Update: New York State Police have made an arrest in the serious assault that resulted in a man slashed in the abdominal area that sent him to Albany Medical Center.
On June 2, 2020 at approximately 5:30 p.m., New York State Police at Margaretville arrested Timothy G. Reiche, age 27 of Arkville, NY for the felony of Assault in the first degree.
The victim, 36-year-old James Bellows told investigators that the attack occurred after an argument on May 27, 2020 at a residence on Spruce Street in the village of Roxbury. Bellows was airlifted to Albany Medical Center the night of the incident.
On June 2, 2020 Reiche responded to SP Margaretville where he was arrested and processed. Reiche was arraigned virtually and remanded to the Delaware County Jail on $5,000 cash bail.
Original release: On May 27, 2020, at approximately 6:20 p.m., New York State Police at Margaretville and Stamford responded to a residence on Spruce Street in the Village of Roxbury for a serious injury.
An investigation revealed that a 36-year-old male was slashed in the midsection with a knife. The male was transported by LifeNet to Albany Med where he is in critical condition. Several people that were in the residence are being interviewed and cooperating with New York State Police Investigators. There is no threat to the public.
Troopers were assisted by the Roxbury Constable and Roxbury Fire and EMS.
The investigation is ongoing and more will be released as it is available.
