Update June 23, 2020: Suspect, Timothy J. Wilcox has died. 

Original Release: On June 19, 2020 at approximately 10:03 p.m. New York State Police and Broome County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched by Broome County 911 to a report of a shooting on Light Road in Harpursville, NY. 

An investigation revealed that Timothy J. Wilcox, age 38 shot his estranged wife, Meghan M. Wilcox, age 35 then turned the gun on himself.  A 16-year-old teen was at the house at the time of the incident and was not injured. 

M. Wilcox was transported by Colesville Ambulance to Wilson Hospital in Johnson City where she is in critical condition.  T. Wilcox was transported by Colesville Ambulance to Wilson Hospital in Johnson City and later flown to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse.  T. Wilcox is in critical condition. 

T. Wilcox is employed as a peace officer with the Broome County Security Division.   

The investigation is on-going, more information will be released as it is available.
