Greenburgh, NY – On August 22, 2020, at approximately 2:40 a.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on I-87 in the town of Greenburgh for a vehicle and traffic violation.  During the interview of the driver, probable cause to search the vehicle and its occupants was established. One of the passengers, Luke J. Powell, 30, of Troy, NY, was found to be in possession of approximately 2.7 grams of powder cocaine. He was taken into custody, transported, and processed at SP Tarrytown. 

 

Powell was subsequently charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5th Degree (cocaine); a Class D Felony.  He was released with appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Greenburgh Court on September 25, 2020 at 9:30 a.m.
