On October 23, 2019, State Police in Brunswick arrested 31-year-old Robert J. Hamel of Troy, for Burglary 3rd degree (D felony), Attempted Grand Larceny 3rd degree (D felony), Criminal Mischief 3rd degree (E felony), two counts of Petit Larceny (A misdemeanor), and Criminal Trespass 3rd degree (B misdemeanor).
Hamel is accused of breaking into Tractor Supply on Hoosick Rd in Brunswick in the early morning hours of September 22, 2019. During the burglary, Hamel used bolt cutters to cut through a fence and enter the property. He then removed over $1,300 worth of merchandise and attempted to remove other items, but was unable to do so.
Hamel was taken into custody on an arrest warrant. He was arraigned in the Brunswick Town Court and remanded to Rensselaer County Jail on $25,000 cash or $75,000 bond. He is due back in court on October 28, 2019 at 9:30 a.m.
