Correction: The New York State Police are assisting the Cortland County Sheriff’s Department with the incident. 

Original Release:

At 7 a.m., the smoke from a truck fire is causing a traffic hazard on Interstate 81 in Cortland County.  It is limiting visibility in both direction on 81 at mile marker 42 (between Cortland/McGraw and Marathon exits). 

New York State Police and members from the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit (CVEU) are out at the fire, along with fire personnel.  The truck is the median and not blocking any traffic.
