UPDATE: Tupper Lake Police, State Police investigate homicide

 

 

 

 

 

UPDATE: August 1, 2022: 

 

On July 30, 2022, Dr. Michael Sikirica completed an autopsy of Melissa Guisewhite at Glens Falls Hospital. Dr. Sikirica determined Guisewhite’s immediate cause of death to be injuries resulting from a stab wound, and the manner of death has been ruled a homicide.

UPDATE: July 28, 2022:

 

On July 28, 2022, the New York State Police arrested Alexa J. Gallagher, 26, of Tupper Lake, for Murder in the Second Degree. Gallagher was arraigned in the Tupper Lake Town Court where she was remanded to the Franklin County Jail without bail. The victim has been identified as Melissa A. Guisewhite, 51, of Tupper Lake. State Police are asking anyone with information regarding this investigation to please contact Troop B Communications at 518-873-2750.

The Tupper Lake Police Department and the State Police are investigating a homicide that occurred on Lakeview Avenue in the Village of Tupper Lake.

Police responded to the residence on Lakeview Avenue at about 1 p.m. on July 28, 2022, and found a single victim who was deceased. A possible suspect has been taken into custody and there is no threat to public safety.
