PRESS RELEASE

 

On March 4, 2021, at 7:30 p.m., State Police in Herkimer conducted a traffic stop on West Smith Street in the Village of Herkimer for a loud exhaust. As the Trooper approached the vehicle on foot the driver drove off. Moments later the vehicle, a 2003 Nissan Altima, operated by Dakota L. Mander, age 26 from Utica, NY failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection of East Steele Street and South Washington Street striking a 2014 Jeep Patriot, driven by Felicia A. Mosher, age 63 from Little Falls, NY on the driver ’s side door.

Mander was airlifted to Albany Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries. Mrs. Mosher was airlifted to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is continuing. Charges against Mander are pending.
