Two area women arrested on drug charges in Friendship

On February 27, 2021, SP Amity Troopers arrested Angela L. Burdick, 43, of Angelica, NY for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree and Loretta N. Proctor, 34, of Bolivar, NY for two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree and Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia 2nd Degree.

During a traffic stop on Interstate 86 in the town of Friendship, Troopers determined Burdick had been operating a vehicle while in an impaired condition. She failed standardized field sobriety tests at the scene. She was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine and suboxone. A Drug Recognition Expert evaluation confirmed impairment. Proctor, a passenger, was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and concentrated cannabis. Both were then arrested and transported to SP Amity.

Both women were released with appearance tickets for Friendship Town Court, where they are due to appear later this month.
