On September 16, 2020, State Police in Latham arrested 19-year-old Alger Scott of Schenectady, NY for Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree (a class C Felony) Criminal Possession of Marihuana 3rd degree (a class E Felony), Endangering the Welfare of a Child (a class A Misdemeanor) and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree (a class A misdemeanor).  19-year-old Sanaa K. Almeraisi of Schenectady, NY was also arrested for Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree (a class C felony) and Endangering the Welfare of a Child (a class A Misdemeanor).

 

State Police stopped Scott for multiple traffic infractions at approximately 1:20 a.m. on Wednesday, as he traveled on Interstate 90 in the City of Albany. When the Troopers spoke with Scott they observed signs indicative of drug use.  A search of Scott, Almeraisi and the vehicle revealed that they were in possession of a loaded revolver.  Scott was additionally found to be in possession of approximately 256 grams of marihuana, as well as several Alprazolam and Hydrocodone pills. 

 

Scott and Almeraisi were transported to SP Latham for processing.  Almeraisi was released and is due to appear in the City of Albany Court on September 28, 2020 at 8:30 a.m. and Scott was transported to Albany County Jail to await arraignment.  He is due back in court on a later date.
