PRESS RELEASE

New York State Police at Margaretville have arrested two people in connection with damage done to a barn in the village of Hobart.  Troopers received a complaint on July 26, 2019 that someone tore off several wood siding boards off the side of a barn.  The damage to the barn totaled approximately $2500. 

After a series of interviews, troopers determined that the boards were taken by Laurie S. Hitchcock, age 27 of Hobart, NY and Anthony A. Lame, age 59 of Hobart, NY and used in a fire pit on Hitchcock’s property. 
 
On September 21, 2019 at 1:30 p.m., troopers arrested Hitchcock, at her residence and charged her with the felony of Criminal Mischief in the third degree and the misdemeanor of Resisting Arrest.  Hitchcock was arraigned in the town of Stamford court where she was remanded to the Delaware County Jail on $2,5000 cash bail or $5,000 property bond. 
 
On September 22, 2019 at approximate 2:55 p.m., Lame was arrested at his residence and charged with the felony of Criminal Mischief in the third degree.  He was arraigned in the town of Stamford court and remanded to the Delaware County Jail on no bail.
