New York State Police at Margaretville arrested two people in the town of Roxbury after an investigation of a rape.

On April 27, 2020 at approximately 1:25 p.m., New York State Police at Margaretville arrested Gloria A. Laureanti, age 77 of Roxbury, NY for four counts of the felony Menacing a Police Officer and the misdemeanor of Resisting Arrest.  Vincent Brower, age 26 of Roxbury, NY was charged with the felonies of Rape in third degree and Criminal Sex Act in the third degree and the misdemeanor of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

Two New York State Police Investigators and two troopers patrolled to Laureanti’s residence in the town of Roxbury seeking to arrest Laureanti’s grandson, who is a suspect in a rape investigation.  When the troopers arrived, they observed the front door of the residence closed but partially blocked by a refrigerator.  When the troopers approached the residence, Laureanti appeared in the doorway and was immediately belligerent with troopers when they told her why they were there.  Within a matter of seconds, Laureanti pointed two revolvers that were hidden behind her back at the troopers.  She held one revolver in each hand.  When the troopers drew their division issued guns, Laureanti dropped the revolvers that were later identified as cap guns.  Laureanti resisted arrest but was ultimately taken into custody.
