Two juveniles in possession of a stolen vehicle caused damage to two law enforcement vehicles

PRESS RELEASE
 On September 19, 2022, Troopers arrested two Juveniles, a 14-year-old male and a 13-year-old male, both from Lake Placid, NY,  for two counts of Criminal Mischief 2nd and one count of Criminal Possession Stolen Property 4th each.

 

On September 19, 2022, around 2:04 p.m., Troopers responded to State Route 86 in the town of Wilmington for a larceny of a vehicle.  An investigation determined two juveniles ran away from Mountain Lake Academy on September 18, 2022, stayed in the area, and on September 19, 2022, stole a black 2013 Hyundai Elantra vehicle.  The two juveniles drove the vehicle around surrounding areas which led to a pursuit with Border Patrol and State Police members.  The pursuit ended with damage to both the Border Patrol vehicle and State Police vehicle.

 

The two male juveniles were arrested and transported to SP Malone for processing.  Both were released on Family Court appearance tickets returnable to Franklin County Family Court on a date to be determined.
