Staten Island, New York – On December 19, 2020 at approximately 2:10 p.m., Investigators from the SP Manhattan Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the Counter Terrorism Intelligence Unit South arrested Donovan Davey, age 35, and Leon H. The Investigators from the SP Manhattan BCI and CTIU - South started an investigation after receiving a tip from the New York State Intelligence Center involving firearm parts illegally entering New York State. Through their investigation, with assistance from Special Agents of the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office, it was found that D. Davey and L. Davey purchased firearm parts from the Allentown Gun Show in Allentown, Pennsylvania earlier that morning and were transporting them in their vehicle into New York City.

Once the information was developed, the Investigators, with the assistance of Troopers from SP Staten Island, conducted a traffic stop on a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, traveling on the Staten Island Expressway and operated by D. Davey, where the firearm parts were known to be. The investigation into the incident revealed D. Davey and L. Davey to illegally possess various amounts of firearm parts, including high capacity magazines and ammunition.

D. Davey and L. Davey were subsequently arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4th Degree, Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Ammunition Feeding Device, New York City Administrative Code 10-314 and New York City Administrative Code 10-131(i)(3).
