Major Jeffrey A. VanAuken
Troop C Commander
On April 21, 2022, at approximately 2:54 p.m., New York State Police at Deposit were dispatched by Broome County 911 to a tractor trailer on its side off State Route 8 in the town of Deposit.
An investigation at the scene revealed that the driver, went off the roadway onto a soft shoulder and landed its passenger side. The truck is owned by J & R Fuller of Bouckville, NY and was carrying wood chips. No injuries were reported.
One lane was shut down for clean-up when at approximately 3:42 p.m., a Penske truck struck low hanging wires with its trailer. The wires were low hanging from the storm earlier in the week.
The Penske truck was not damaged during the incident and no injuries were reported.
State Route 8 was closed between Nettie Axtell Road and Steam Mill Road for several hours because of the downed power lines and clean up.
