PRESS RELEASE

Two teens were arrested this morning and charged with the felony of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the third degree and the misdemeanor of Resisting Arrest. 
 
At approximately 5:26 a.m., Monday, September 30, 2019, New York State Police at Oneonta were dispatched to a car off the roadway that was facing the wrong way on Interstate 88 in the town of Otego.  Troopers located the vehicle and two teens walking near the roadway.  When the troopers activated their emergency lights, the teens took off running.  One teen was taken into custody near a residence on County Highway 48 in the town of Otego.  The second teen was located a short distance away laying in a field (on County Highway 48). 
 
A further investigation revealed that the vehicle, a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu was reported stolen in Albany, NY.  The teens will appear in Family Court.  Oneonta City Police, Otsego County Sheriff’s Deputies and troopers from SP Sidney assisted.
