On July 11, 2020 at approximately 8:06 p.m., New State Police at Sidney arrested Nathaniel W. Richardson, age 29 of Unadilla, NY for the misdemeanors of Endangering the Welfare of a Child (four counts), Unlawful Imprisonment in the second degree and Criminal Mischief in the fourth degree. He was arrested again on July 12, 2020 at approximately 6:17 a.m., for the misdemeanor of Criminal Contempt in the second degree.
On July 11, 2020 Troopers responded to a domestic dispute near Overlook Lane and State Highway 7 in the town of Unadilla. An investigation revealed that Richardson and a victim were involved in an argument that turned physical. The victim accused Richardson of taking a cellphone away from the victim when the victim tried call 911 for help. The victim also accused Richardson of holding down the victim when the victim attempted to run for help. The investigation also revealed that it occurred in the presence of four children and several of them ran to a neighboring residence seeking help.
Richardson was arrested by troopers, processed and virtually arraigned. He was released on his own recognizance and was ordered to appear at the town of Unadilla court on August 11, 2020. The victim was issued an order of protection directing Richardson to stay away from the victim.
Richardson was arrested again on July 12, 2020 after a trooper was dispatched by Otsego 911 reporting that Richardson violated the order of protection that was issued several hours earlier. Richardson left the scene prior to the trooper’s arrival and was located at another address in Unadilla. Richardson was processed at SP Sidney and transported to Otsego Central Arraignment and Processing where he was released on his own recognizance and told to appear in the town of Unadilla on August 11, 2020.
