An autopsy has determined that the cause of death of Dallas Eller was hemorrhage and right hemothorax, as a result of a gunshot wound to the chest. The autopsy was conducted at Albany Medical Center by Dr. Michael Sikirica.
Alexander Eller has been charged with Manslaughter 1st degree (B felony) in the shooting death of his father Dallas Eller Jr.

He was arraigned in Glen Town Court and remanded to Montgomery County Jail on $25,000 cash or $50,000 bond. He is due back in court tomorrow at 4:00 p.m.


State Police confirm they are investigating a homicide that occurred early this morning in the Town of Mohawk.
At approximately 5:43 a.m., Montgomery County Dispatch received a 911 call from 20-year-old Alexander R. Eller of Mohawk, reporting that he had shot his father in his residence on State Route 334.
State Police and Montgomery County Sheriffs responded to the home and located 56-year-old Dallas B. Eller Jr. suffering from a single gunshot wound to the chest. On scene EMS attempted life-saving measures, but were unable to revive him.
Alexander Eller is in police custody, charges are pending further investigation.
There will be a media availability at Troop G Headquarters today at 3:00 p.m.
