Whitestown, NY – On Monday, April 25, 2022, at approximately 8:30 p.m., State Police responded to a personal injury crash on I-90 in the town of Whitestown, Oneida County.

A preliminary investigation revealed Adelaide E. Krumsiek, 40, of Cazenovia, NY, was driving a 2011 Toyota Sienna, traveling westbound, when she made a U-turn and began traveling eastbound against traffic.  It was determined that Krumsiek intentionally collided with a 2015 Freightliner box truck head on.  Ugur Baran, 41, of Charlotte, NC, was operating the box truck westbound on I-90 when he was unable to avoid the crash.  Luckily, he was not injured.

Immediately following the crash, Krumsiek climbed over the safety barrier of the Thruway overpass above Main St in Whitestown.  Responding Troopers and emergency personnel were eventually able to take Krumsiek into custody and transported her to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital for minor injuries sustained in the crash, and a mental health evaluation.  She was issued multiple vehicle and traffic violations.

The crash remains under investigation and criminal charges are pending.
