Henrietta, NY – On August 3, 2021, at approximately 6:45 a.m., State Police responded to a report of a serious personal injury crash that occurred on I-90 in the town of Henrietta.
A preliminary investigation determined that William T. Shanahan, 43, of West Seneca, NY, was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer eastbound near mile marker 356.2 when he started to drive off the north should of the roadway for an unknown reason. Shanahan then overcorrected and the Chevy crossed the eastbound lanes, overturning several times on the south shoulder, resulting in 4 out of the 5 occupants of the vehicle to become ejected.
Passenger, Dustin Jones, 33, of West Seneca, NY, was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital with life-threatening injuries. He is currently in critical condition. Lisa A. Driscoll, 33, of West Seneca was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital where she is reported to have serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
8-year-old Chloe Driscoll and 1-year old Ava Jones were both transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Jones was secured in a car seat and was the only occupant who was not ejected.
Shanahan was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for minor injuries. Charges are pending. More information will be released as it becomes available.
