UPDATE: On July 15, 2020, State Police arrested two more juveniles for the racially biased graffiti on Sumner Brook Bridge.
A 15-year-old from Saranac Lake, was charged with Aggravated Harassment 1st degree and Making Graffiti
A 14-year-old from Saranac Lake, was charged with Making Graffiti
Previously, on July 12, a 15-year-old from Bloomingdale was charged with Criminal Mischief 4th degree as a hate crime, and Making Graffiti, and a 14-year-old from Bloomingdale was charged with Aggravated Harassment 1st degree and Making Graffiti.
All have been released with appearance tickets for Essex County Family Court.

On July 10, 2020, State Police responded to a report of graffiti spray-painted underneath a bridge over Sumner Brook, on the Oregon Plains Road in the town of St. Armand. The graffiti consisted of swastikas and a racial slur. To date, two juveniles have been arrested. This investigation is continuing and further information will be released as it is available.
