UPDATE: .  State Police Monroe BCI continue to investigate the motor vehicle fatal accident that occurred at the Long Mountain Circle in the town of Highlands on August 25, 2020 and are attempting to identify anyone who may of witnessed the crash or observed the vehicle involved prior to the accident. Witnesses can  contact State POlice Monroe BCI at 845-782-8311.

State Police are investigating a single vehicle crash that occurred on August, 25, 2020 at approximately 6 a.m. Investigation revealed that a 2018 Infiniti with three people, was traveling east on State Route 6. While entering the Long Mountain Circle the vehicle lost control and entered the center island striking a tree. The rear passenger, Farhan Sadik, age 21 of Hempstead, NY was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver and front seat passenger did not suffer any injuries. The operator of the vehicle, Ebraheem Chowdhury, age 22 of New York, NY was charged with Criminally Negligent Homicide. State Police were assisted by the New York State Park Police. This is an ongoing investigation. State Police Monroe are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash, to contact the New York State Police Monroe Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) at 845-344-5300.
