UPDATE:


All six juveniles in the stolen U-Haul van that crashed near St. Peter Hospital, have been charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th degree, an E felony. One of the juveniles was additionally charged with Resisting Arrest and Obstruction of Governmental Administration 2nd degree, both are A misdemeanors. All parties were issued an appearance ticket for Albany County Family Court and released to a guardian.
 
The juveniles located in the vehicle near exit 24 of the New York State Thruway, described as a U-Haul box truck, have been interviewed by police and released.

The investigation is ongoing, any further information will be posted to the newsroom.

At approximately 6:00 p.m. State Police responded to Crossgates Mall in the Town of Guilderland, to assist Guilderland Police Department with a fight in progress.

Two vehicles left the scene and were located by Troopers a short time later.  Both vehicles failed to comply with attempts to stop them, and were pursued by police.

One of the vehicles was followed for a distance and came to a stop in the area of exit 24 of the New State Thruway. Three juveniles were taken into custody.

The second vehicle was pursued and was involved in a one-car collision in the area of St. Peter’s Hospital.  Six juveniles were inside the vehicle, they were taken into custody and transported to Albany Medical Center with minor injuries.

One of the juveniles was treated for a non-life-threatening stab wound believed to have been sustained during the altercation at Crossgates Mall. It was also determined that the vehicle that they had been operating was reported stolen by U-Haul.

The investigation is currently ongoing, any updates will be posted to the newsroom.
