The man struck by a van on I-287 in the town of Harrison Friday, September 20, 2019, remains in critical but stable condition at Westchester Medical Center.
Diego A. Maidana, 39, of White Plains, NY, walked across the eastbound lanes of I-287 near mile marker 7.1 and attempted to cross the westbound lanes.  While doing so, Maidana was struck by a 2006 Chevrolet E350 van being operated by Brian W. Rodriguez, 36, of Stormville, NY, resulting in life-threatening injuries.  Rodriguez was not injured in the accident.
State Police were assisted at the scene by the Town of Harrison Police Department, Fire Department, and Empress EMS. 

Harrison, NY – On September 20, 2019, State Police responded to a serious personal injury accident which occurred on I-287 in the town of Harrison, Westchester County. 
The crash occurred at approximately 2:25 p.m. on I-287 westbound at mile marker 7.2, between exits 9 and 9A, when a pedestrian was struck by a car.
The pedestrian has been transported to Westchester Medical Center with life threatening injuries. 
Two of the three westbound lanes remain blocked while the accident investigation continues.  More information will be released when it becomes available.
