UPDATE: Jyung Hahn, age 46 from Cresskill, NJ was driving a 2020 Tesla Northbound on the Palisades Interstate Parkway when he lost control of the vehicle near exit 10. The vehicle left the roadway on the west shoulder and struck a tree. The vehicle became fully engulfed in flames. Mr. Hahn was pronounced deceased at the scene. Weather was a contributing factor.


UPDATE:  State Police are asking anyone who may have been a witness to the crash or observed the vehicle before the crash to contact Investigator Eric Haydt at the Haverstraw Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) at 845-364-9424. The vehicle is a white Tesla with New Jersey plates. traveling North on the parkway.


Rockland, NY - Saturday March 12, 2022, at approximately 11:20 a.m., State Police from the Haverstraw and Monroe barracks responded to Palisades Interstate Parkway in the town of Rockland for a report of a single vehicle crash.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a vehicle traveling northbound on the Palisades Parkway near exit 10, crashed. There was one occupant in the vehicle who was declared deceased at the scene. The cause of the crash appears to be weather related. The northbound lanes are between exits 9 and 10. Traffic is being diverted.

This is an ongoing investigation. State Police will update when the investigation is complete.
