   Troop T Commander

Danube, NY – On November 3, 2019, at approximately 9:20 p.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on I-90 in the town of Danube.  Before Troopers could approach the vehicle, the operator sped off and a brief pursuit ensued.  The vehicle exited the Thruway at the Little Falls exit and due to unsafe speeds, State Police ended the chase on State Route 169 in the town of Manheim.  Minutes later, Troopers received a report from Little Falls Police Department of a hit and run property damage accident involving the suspect vehicle.  The uninjured driver, Lato-Shamee Jenkins, 23, of Utica, NY, was located a short distance down the road and was determined to be intoxicated.
Jenkins was taken into custody, transported, and processed at SP Schuyler where his blood alcohol content was determined to be .11%.  He was subsequently charged with Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle 3rd degree; a Class A Misdemeanor, Driving While Intoxicated; an Unclassified Misdemeanor, Reckless Driving; an Unclassified Misdemeanor, and several Vehicle and Traffic Violations.
Jenkins was turned over to a sober third party and released on appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Danube Court on November 18, 2019 at 6:00 p.m.
