On April 19, 2020, at approximately 8:39 a.m. State Police responded to a report of a collision on State Route 11B in the town of Dickinson. An investigation at the scene revealed that a 2005 Chrysler Town and Country minivan, operated by 58-year-old Carl E. Monroe, of Norfolk,  was traveling west on State Route 11B when it struck a horse drawn carriage also traveling west. The occupants of the carriage, Roman A. Gingerich, 30, Fannie D. Gingerich, 31, David R. Gingerich, 9, Amos R. Gingerich, 7, Esre R. Gingerich, 6, Mary R. Gingerich, 3, and Clere R. Gingerich, 1, all of Dickinson, were treated by Bangor EMS for minor abrasions and released. The horse sustained a minor laceration to one of its legs. Monroe was not injured.
