Village of Monroe man arrested for Rape 1st degree

The New York State Police and the Village of Monroe Police Department announce the arrest of 19-year-old Jon Pelcin of Monroe NY, on the charges of Rape 1^st degree, a felony and the misdemeanors Unlawful Imprisonment 2^nd degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

On September 2, 2022, the Village of Monroe Police Department initiated an investigation into sexual assaults of a minor that had occurred over several years.   On November 18, 2022, the New York State Police Monroe barracks was contacted to assist with the investigation.  The investigation revealed that these incidents occurred in various locations throughout the Hudson Valley and New Jersey.  Jon Pelcin was arrested on November 29, 2022, in Monroe, NY.

Pelcin was arraigned in the City of Middletown Court and was remanded to Orange County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail and $45,000 bond.

This arrest was a multi-jurisdictional investigation involving The Village of Monroe Police Department, New York State Police Monroe Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI), Orange County Child Advocacy Center, Orange County District Attorney’s Office, The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office of New Jersey, and the Long Beach Police Department in New Jersey.
