VT man found with guns, meth during stop in Ft. Ann

On March 30, 2021, State Police in Granville arrested 30-year-old Justin R. Heath of Starkboro, VT, for two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2^nd degree, a class E felony, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7^th degree, a class A misdemeanor.

State Police stopped Heath for a traffic infraction as he traveled on State Route 4 in Fort Ann around 2:30 a.m on Tuesday. When the Trooper spoke with Heath, they observed marijuana in plain view inside the vehicle. A probable cause search was conducted and revealed that Heath was also in possession of two handguns and approximately 6 grams of methamphetamine. Heath does not have a permit for the handguns in New York.

Heath was taken into custody and transported to SP Granville for processing. He was issued an appearance ticket for Fort Ann Town Court on April 7, 2021 at 10:00 a.m.
