On January 10, 2021, State Police in Sand Lake, arrested 40-year-old Jason E. Baldauf of West Sand Lake, for Criminal Mischief 2nd degree (D felony), Criminal Mischief 4th degree (A misdemeanor), two counts of Criminal Tampering 3rd degree (B misdemeanor), and Driving While Ability Impaired by Alcohol (violation).

Baldauf is accused of intentionally causing over $1,500 worth of damage to a vehicle, after having a dispute with the owner. Baldauf is also accused of intentionally damaging miscellaneous property belonging to the vehicle owner.

When Troopers located Baldauf he was found to be operating a motor vehicle while impaired. He was taken into custody and transported to SP Sand Lake where he provided a breath sample of .06%.

Baldauf was arraigned in Sand Lake Town Court and remanded to Rensselaer County Jail. A full stay away order of protection was issued to the victim.
