West Valley man arrested for felony DWI in Ashford
On May 21, 2023, SP Machias Troopers arrested Dylan J. Nelson, 27, of West Valley, NY for Driving While Intoxicated – Previous Conviction Within Ten Years and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle.
Troopers investigating a one-vehicle accident on Edies Road in the town of Ashford observed Nelson exhibiting obvious signs of intoxication and determined he had been operating a motor vehicle while in an intoxicated condition. He refused to perform standardized field sobriety tests at the scene. Nelson was arrested and transported to SP Machias, where he refused to submit to a chemical breath test.
Nelson was issued appearance tickets for Ashford Town Court, where he is due to appear in June, and turned over to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office on two outstanding felony warrants.
