On July 14, 2019, State Police in Granville arrested 24-year-old Ovidio Ramirez-Sanchez of Whitehall, for Unlawful Imprisonment 2nd degree, Criminal Mischief 4th degree, and Harassment 2nd degree.
Troopers responded to a domestic dispute at a Whitehall residence shortly before midnight on Saturday. Upon arriving they spoke to a female victim who stated that Ramirez-Sanchez had struck her and forced her into a bedroom, refusing to let her leave. When the victim attempted to call 911 Ramirez-Sanchez pulled the phone from her hands. After he left the room, she contacted police using a cell phone. Ramirez-Sanchez left the scene before police arrived and was located the next morning when he attempted to return to the residence. He was transported to SP Granville where he was processed.
Ramirez-Sanchez was transported to Washington County Jail to await arraignment.
