PRESS RELEASE

On July 22, 2022, just before 8 a.m., State Police in Marcy responded to a reported stabbing at an apartment located at 9659 River Road in the town of Marcy.

When patrols and members from Maynard Fire Department arrived on the scene, they located a 30-year-old male from Utica with multiple stab wounds.  The investigation has determined the victim was in a physical altercation with another male when he was stabbed with a knife. He was transported by Kunkel Ambulance Service to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Utica with non-life threatening injuries.  

The other male involved in the altercation was located by Troopers shortly after the incident walking down Maynard Drive. No charges have been filed at this time.

The investigation is continuing.

State Police were assisted at the scene by NYS University Police, Maynard Fire Department, and Kunkel Ambulance.
