On Friday, February 12, 2021, the New York State Police Financial Crimes Unit arrested Ellen K. Zwijacz, 42, of Wilton, New York, on charges of Grand Larceny 1st degree, a class B felony, Scheme to Defraud 1st degree, a class E felony, and two counts of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd degree, a class D felony.

An investigation by the State Police and the Saratoga County District Attorney’s Office determined that Zwijacz, who is an attorney, stole approximately $1.4 million from a client who hired her to assist with legal matters.

Zwijacz was processed with the assistance of SP Saratoga and was arraigned in Wilton town court on February 12, and is scheduled to reappear on March 23.
