On October 21, 2021, the New York State Police in Wilton arrested 29-year-old Gina Battista of Wilton for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree (A misdemeanor), Criminal Possession of Weapon 4th degree (A misdemeanor), and Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia (A misdemeanor).
Battista was stopped for a series of traffic related offenses as she traveled on Northern Pines Road in Wilton Thursday morning. During the stop she was found to be in possession of Suboxone without a prescription, multiple glassine baggies containing heroin residue, and a set of metal knuckles. Battista was also being sought by State Police after it was determined that she had previously made a false report in an unrelated case.
On October 17, 2021, State Police were attempting to locate Isaiah Lofland who was a suspect in a stabbing that occurred in South Glens Falls. Battista is accused of calling 9ll and falsely reporting that Lofland was at her house and was out of control. When patrols arrived, Battista told them that Lofland had left on foot. However, Lofland was being taken into custody at another residence at time and could not have been at Battista’s.
Battista was additionally charged with Hindering the Prosecution 2nd degree (E felony), Making a False Written Statement (A misdemeanor), and Falsely Reporting an Emergency 3rd degree (A misdemeanor). She was arraigned in Wilton Town Court and remanded to Saratoga County Jail on $5,000 cash and $10,000 bond. She is due back in court on a later date.https://www.nyspnews.com/albany-man-charged-with-assault-following-stabbing-in-south-glens-falls.htm
