PRESS RELEASE

On August 20, 2019 at approximately 2:55 p.m., New York State Police at Homer (Interstate) arrested Shana C. Dugar, age 28 of Syracuse, NY for the misdemeanors of Criminal Impersonation in the second degree and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the third degree.  She was also issued tickets for Speeding and No License.

A trooper monitoring traffic on Interstate 81 in Cortlandville observed the vehicle Dugar was operating speeding.  After a traffic stop was initiated, Dugar provided the trooper with a license that was not hers.  The trooper discovered that the person whose name was on the license, had an active arrest warrant with the Dewitt Police Department.  When the trooper told Dugar she was going to be taken into custody for the warrant, she revealed that she was using a relative’s license because she did not have a valid driver’s license.  The trooper was able to confirm her identity and she was subsequently arrested for criminal impersonation.  Dugar was processed and later released on appearance tickets to the town of Cortlandville court for September 9, 2019.
