On October 23, 2019, State Police in Mayfield arrested 45-year-old Harold L. Young and 35-year-old Amanda M. Vannostrand, both of Broadalbin. Each was charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated (E felony).
 
Shortly after 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, State Police were called to the Budget Inn in Broadalbin for a disturbance. Troopers found that two males had been involved in an altercation after attaching a chain between their two vehicles and playing “Tug of War” in the parking lot. One of the drivers, Harold Young, exhibited signs of intoxication. Young was administered the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which he failed. Young provided a breath sample of .30% B.A.C.
 
While Young was being processed at SP Mayfield, Troopers observed Amanda Vannostrand drive her vehicle into the parking lot of the barracks to pick up Young after his arrest. When Troopers spoke with Vannostrand, she exhibited signs of intoxication. She was administered the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which she failed, and was taken into custody. Vannostrand provided a breath sample of .22% B.A.C.
 
Both were issued and appearance ticket. Young is due in Broadalbin Town Court on November 7, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. Vannostrand is due in Mayfield Town Court on November 12, 2019 at 3:00 p.m.
