New York State Troopers in Waterloo report the arrest of a New York City resident after responding to a complaint of drugs being smuggled into Cayuga Correctional Facility in Moravia, NY. An investigation revealed that Camille C. Richards, 32, of Flushing, NY was found to possess varying quantities of marijuana, synthetic marijuana, and suboxone while being processed in as a visitor at the facility. The drugs were discovered after Richards admitted to Correction Officers that she hid them on her person. Richards was transported to the State Police Moravia Barracks where she was charged with Promoting Prison Contraband 1st Degree (Class D Felony), Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th Degree (Class D Felony), Promoting Prison Contraband 2nd Degree (Class A Misdemeanor) and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana (Violation). Richards was arraigned at the Town of Moravia Court and remanded to the Cayuga County Jail on $2,500.00 bail or $5,000.00 bond. Troopers were assisted in the investigation by members of the New York State DOCCS Office of Special Investigations.
