West Seneca, NY – On December 27, 2019, at approximately 12:10 a.m., State Police responded to a report of a wrong way vehicle on I-90 in the town of West Seneca.  The investigation revealed that a Toyota Camry was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes and when Troopers attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver failed to comply.  The pursuit continued for approximately 3 miles before the vehicle stopped at the Lackawanna tolls.
The driver of the Toyota, Michael K. Baker, 73, of Youngstown, NY, was found to be intoxicated.  He was transported and processed at SP Buffalo where he refused to submit to a chemical test to determine the alcohol content in his system. 
Baker was subsequently charged with Driving While Intoxicated; an Unclassified Misdemeanor and Reckless Endangerment 2nd degree and Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle 3rd degree; both Class A Misdemeanors.
Baker was turned over to a sober third party and released on appearance tickets returnable to the Town of West Seneca Court on January 15, 2020 at 5:00 p.m.
